It’s not every weekend that you get to witness a Latina superstar sell out the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. Having fans come from all over the state isn’t the only impressive thing Becky G is capable of—she’s constantly growing as an artist while continuing to show love and appreciation for her fans, no matter the age group. As I walked toward the arena entrance from the parking lot, all you could see were crowds of fans singing her songs, rocking her merch, and of course, wearing boots and tejanas, ready to dance the night away. I’ve had the privilege of seeing Becky G live at this very arena before—once as a surprise guest during Marca MP’s set—but this crowd was on another level. She was headlining her own sold-out show for the “Casa Gomez: Otro Capítulo Tour.” The second you walked inside, you knew you were in for a long night of partying and pure entertainment.
I’ve been to dozens of concerts and have had the fortune of shooting media for many of them, but this one felt different. Typically, you walk into a concert, take your seat, and wait for an opener or the main artist. But this was the complete opposite. An hour before the show even began, Becky’s DJ had the whole arena lit—spinning everything from reggaetón and classic banda to West Coast hip-hop. Everyone in the stadium was already jumping and dancing, and Becky hadn’t even come out yet. From the barricade, I turned around and saw 11,000 fans with their phones in the air, chanting “Becky! Becky! Becky!” As the floor rumbled beneath me and the crowd grew louder, I knew we were in for a night full of magic, talent, and fun.
Finally, the lights went out. The screams got louder as neon lights and haze rose from the ground. A bright neon rectangle lit up the middle of the stage, and Becky’s silhouette appeared as she began to sing “MALA SANTA.” The red lights intensified, dancers rushed out, and then—through the haze—Becky emerged, flashing her signature smile as she kicked off the night. It was hard to focus on just one thing. Her choreography was on point, but the crowd was also electric, with 11,000 people singing and dancing along. Besides her vocals, I had forgotten how much of a skilled dancer she is—especially during her second song, “FULANITO” featuring El Alfa. The whole arena turned into one massive nightclub, with banners waving, fans dancing, and phones capturing every second.

As the night rolled on, so did the surprises. Becky performed all her biggest hits, but also brought out some unexpected guests. When she began to introduce her first special guest, the music shifted from reggaetón to Mexican banda. The crowd roared as she welcomed none other than Chiquis Rivera—daughter of the legendary Jenni Rivera—to the stage. A multiple-time Latin Grammy winner, Chiquis joined Becky to perform their collab “CUIDADITO.” As they sang and laughed together, it became clear how special the moment was. Watching these two iconic Latinas share the stage was inspiring. They're not just performing—they're pushing boundaries in Regional Mexican music, proving that the talented women in this genre are here to stay. If there’s one thing Becky G is known for, it’s the diversity in her sound. She constantly challenges herself by working with a wide range of artists and exploring new styles—and her next guest made that even more obvious.
As Becky began to sing “2NDO CHANCE” off her recent album ESQUINAS, the energy in the arena shifted to something more sentimental. A heartfelt heartbreak anthem, the track had fans swaying and singing along in their feelings. But as the tempo picked up, Becky asked the crowd to give a warm welcome to Ivan Cornejo. Suddenly, that glowing rectangle opened once again, and through the fading fog, Ivan emerged center stage, singing his iconic verse. It was timed perfectly—right as the fog lifted, he appeared crystal clear. The acoustic, alternative style of the track showcased just how far Latin music has come. Seeing Becky G and Ivan Cornejo perform this emotional collaboration live in a sold-out arena felt surreal.
Becky kept the momentum going all night, balancing her new material with the classics that got her here. Beyond her vocals and choreography, what stood out most was her deep love for her fans. It’s one thing to put on a great show—it’s another to genuinely care about your audience. My favorite moment of the night was when Becky called two young fans up to the stage. The little girls, crying and dressed in custom Becky G outfits, were clearly overwhelmed with joy. Becky gifted them merch, took photos, and even had them sit with her to sing a song—creating a core memory they’ll never forget. But she didn’t stop there. She also showed love to her older fan base, explaining how earlier in the day, she asked fans on social media what song she should perform. She brought the two fans who made the winning request onstage, sang their song, and even shared a shot of tequila with them. It was the most Latino moment ever—but of course, it’s a Becky G concert!

This was hands down one of the most memorable concerts I’ve attended in a long time. It makes me proud to see a fellow Latino thriving the way Becky G is. Knowing she’s an L.A. native—someone who once stood in the same shoes many of us are in now—chasing a dream and making it happen, is beyond inspiring. Seeing the Toyota Arena packed to the rafters with fans from all over L.A. and the Inland Empire was a beautiful reminder of the impact she’s making. Thanks to artists like Becky, their teams, and productions like AEG Presenta, moments like this are brought to life. Together, Becky G and AEG Presenta created unforgettable memories for kids, teens, and adults alike—and we can’t wait to see what she does next.
