KALI UCHIS, "SINCERELY, THE PREMIERE."

Kali Uchis, Mid City Mercado, and Capitol Records joined forces to host one of Los Angeles’ most extravagant music video premieres—done in true Kali Uchis fashion. For years, Kali has represented herself not only as one of the biggest names in pop, alternative, and Latin music, but also as a cultural icon for Latina women in the industry. She continues to break records and defy expectations, always stepping outside her comfort zone while staying true to her originality with every project she dives into. With a catalog full of hits and collaborations with artists like Peso Pluma, Karol G, Tyler, the Creator—and now, more recently, JENNIE, Childish Gambino, and Cris MJ—her newest project is highly anticipated following last year’s successful studio album ORQUÍDEAS. To announce her latest release, Kali invited her Los Angeles community to celebrate the premiere of her brand-new single, “Sunshine & Rain…”

Select fans were welcomed to Kali Uchis’ Night Market, where dozens of Latinx vendors and small business owners sold goods ranging from jewelry and artwork to food and flowers. Each vendor was personally invited by Kali to not only serve the community, but to spotlight their craft and promote their businesses. Vendors of all ages came together, united by a shared love and admiration for Kali—not just for her music, but for what she represents as a proud Latina in the Los Angeles community. In addition to the marketplace, there were live DJs spinning classic tunes outdoors and dozens of lowrider cars for fans to admire and take photos with. Front and center was a large stage and LED screen, where the music video for “Sunshine & Rain…” would later premiere.

As the night went on, the energy grew, with more fans arriving and taking part in the festivities—interacting with vendors, exploring food trucks, checking out the lowriders, and dancing to the music. What was already a huge celebration quickly went up anohter level. The gates opened, and a lowrider vehicle cruised into the venue, with fans cheering and capturing the moment. In the passenger seat was the star of the night herself, Kali Uchis, accompanied by her husband, Don Toliver. Paparazzi and fans crowded around as Kali stepped out, greeting the crowd with waves and smiles before making her way to the stage. There, she thanked everyone who came out and helped bring the event to life. She then officially announced her upcoming album, set to drop later this year, and introduced the premiere of her new music video for “Sunshine & Rain…”

The event was a one of a kind experience designed for fans to celebrate Kali’s latest chapter while also uplifting their communities and local Latinx businesses. It was a reflection of who Kali Uchis is, not just as a genre-bending artist, but as a Latina proud to support others walking a similar path. Her newest single, “Sunshine & Rain…”, is now available on all streaming platforms, and the official music video is live on YouTube. Her highly anticipated new album, “Sincerely,” is set to release May 9th. The project includes 14 new tracks, including the just-released single. Once again, Kali is ready to share her heart with the world and connect with fans across the globe.
