As you drove closer to the Forum, weaving through the packed streets leading to the parking lot, the sight of Mexican flags waving in the air became increasingly prominent. Almost every fan sported their boots and hats, signaling that this was no ordinary night at the Kia Forum. Inglewood was in for something truly special, as Mexican superstar Luis R. Conriquez was set to kick off his highly anticipated 2025 tour right here in the greater Los Angeles area.

Luis R. Conriquez has firmly established himself as the "King of Corridos," boasting countless chart-topping songs in the Regional Mexican genre and collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry. Inglewood had the honor of being the first stop on his "TRAKAS HDSPM TOUR 2025," a tour spanning the U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, and even featuring a surprise appearance in Colombia. After much excitement surrounding the tour announcement, the moment had finally arrived to witness the King of Corridos take the stage at the iconic Kia Forum, solidifying his place among the greats who have performed on this legendary stage.

Conriquez wasted no time setting the tone for the night. The Kia Forum was packed to capacity with passionate fans from all corners of Los Angeles, and Luis R. knew exactly how to keep the energy high. He kicked off his set with some of his biggest hits, ensuring the crowd was not only singing along but dancing the entire time. Regional Mexican music has seen an incredible rise over the last few years, and artists like Luis R. are a driving force behind the genre's mainstream success. He performed some of his most popular songs, including "Martes 13," "No Son Doritos," "Sin Tanto Royo," "La 701," "JGL," and his most-streamed hit, "Si No Quieres No."

What sets Luis R. apart from many other artists is not just his vocal and songwriting talents, but his credibility within the industry. He was one of the first artists to successfully fuse the "Dembow Belicos" subgenre with Corrido music. Dembow, a fast-paced, danceable genre originating in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic, found an unlikely yet electrifying blend with traditional Corrido beats under Luis R.'s vision. Songs like "Dembow Belico," "De Fresa y Coco," and "Que Se Cuide" turned the Kia Forum from a traditional Regional Mexican concert into a high-energy dance party. Fans were on their feet, moving to the infectious dembow beats while passionately singing their favorite corridos.

Luis R. Conriquez’s influence extends far beyond his massive catalog of hits. He is not only respected by his fans but also highly regarded by his peers in the music industry. Despite any tensions that may exist between labels, Luis R. has always been an artist that others can rely on, and this night was a testament to the deep respect he’s earned from fellow musicians. As the crowd continued to dance and sing along, Luis R. surprised everyone by bringing special guests to the stage.

The first guest to join him was pioneering artist Legado 7, known for his contributions to the Corridos Tumbados genre. A trailblazer in making Regional Mexican music mainstream, Legado 7 was thrilled to share the stage with Luis R. and even performed his hit song "On D Gas." Not long after, Luis R. welcomed another major surprise guest: Tito Double P, a superstar from the Double P Records label. Tito’s appearance caused the entire stadium to erupt in cheers. After Luis R. praised him, they performed their hit collaboration, "Dembow Belico." Tito’s signature dance moves lit up the stage, and the surprises kept coming as Joel De La P also joined them, much to the crowd's delight. Tito further energized the audience by performing his own hit song, "El Lokeron."

Just when fans thought the surprises were over, the lights dimmed, and a familiar voice boomed, “Los Angeles, how the f*** we doing?” Smog machines filled the stage, and the spotlight shifted to reveal none other than JOP, the lead singer of Fuerza Regida. The crowd went wild as JOP made his way to the stage, greeting Luis R. with a hug and a high five. Luis R. then announced to the crowd, “Vamos a cantar una rola con mi compa Jesus que se llama Cholo 7,” meaning, “We’re going to sing a song with my friend Jesus called Cholo 7.” This collaboration, which had taken social media by storm, sent the audience into a frenzy. JOP not only performed some of his solo hits but also brought out even more surprises, including artists from his own label, Street Mob Records. Calle 24 and Jorsshh joined the stage to perform their hit collaboration, "Rosones," further electrifying the atmosphere.

To close out the night, Luis R. Conriquez invited one final guest—Mexican music legend Arley Perez—who helped bring the house down with a stellar performance. Luis R. Conriquez proved once again why he’s considered a trailblazer and one of the most influential figures in Regional Mexican music. As a pioneer of the genre, he continues to release hit after hit and sell out venues wherever he goes. The opening of his tour at the Kia Forum set the bar high for the rest of the tour, and the Los Angeles area was fortunate to host the King of Corridos. Luis R. Conriquez continues to elevate the Regional Mexican genre on a global scale, and his success shows no signs of slowing down.
