On April 18th, Sacramento rap icon Mozzy teamed up with Philadelphia-based Down North Pizza and What Up Dough Pizza for a powerful community-driven pop-up event in Los Angeles. While Mozzy has long established himself as a force in hip-hop, this collaboration reaffirmed his deeper impact as a public figure and activist. Known for hosting toy drives, participating in charity events, and uplifting his community, Mozzy’s link-up with Down North—a mission-driven pizzeria that hires formerly incarcerated individuals, and with the locally respected What Up Dough pizza was a natural and meaningful fit.

The event drew crowds well before Mozzy even arrived. Fans lined up around the block to get a slice of What Up Dough and Down North’s signature pizza and a taste of something bigger than pizza, purpose. With music blasting, exclusive merchandise giveaways, and Mozzy’s newly released album “Intrusive Thoughts” setting the tone, the vibe was refreshing.

Excitement peaked as a red Lamborghini Urus pulled up to the curb and Mozzy stepped out, greeted with cheers and admiration. He made his way into the venue, shaking hands, hugging fans, and signing cherished memorabilia—CDs, vinyl, and posters brought by supporters who had traveled hours just to be there.

Mozzy later delivered a heartfelt speech, thanking attendees for their love and support. He opened up about the creative process behind Intrusive Thoughts, emphasizing its personal weight and community roots. Afterward, he stuck around to take photos, chat with fans, and sit down with press, making sure every moment counted.

This wasn’t just an album release or a pizza party. It was a statement. Mozzy and Down North Pizza proved that music and food can be vehicles for change. Together, they turned a pop-up into a platform, raising awareness around recidivism, promoting second chances, and giving back to those often overlooked by society.

Mozzy’s latest project, Intrusive Thoughts, features hard-hitting collaborations with EST Gee on “DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR” and Polo G on “WHO WANT WAR,” delivering raw narratives layered over polished production. Tracks like “PAC PROUD” and “HELLA HYPHY” nod to California’s storied hip-hop legacy, grounding the album in deep West Coast pride. The result? A powerful body of work that reflects Mozzy’s evolution as an artist and leader.

Intrusive Thoughts is now available on all streaming platforms.
