Day 1 of Sueños was a true movie, with explosive performances from all the artists and a banger of a final headliner from Shakira! Sueños Music Festival set the bar high with their Day 1 show, and matching that level of energy seemed almost impossible—but of course, Sueños reached another level and lived up to all the hype. The Day 2 lineup sent the media into a frenzy when it was first announced that the King of Kings, Don Omar, was set to headline and close off the festival. Don Omar, recognized as one of the godfathers of Latin urban music, is a rare act to catch live after wrapping up his final tour last year. But now, fans in Chicago were lucky enough to witness this once-in-a-lifetime moment in their own city. As the day kicked off, so did the party—and a wave of incredible performances led up to one of Latin music's most significant nights yet.

With many talented and up-and-coming acts kicking off Day 2—like 3BALLMTY, Sorry Papi, Legallyrxx, Gonzy, and even the trending and talented Bellakath—we were in for a day full of artists that would set the perfect mood and carry the same momentum from the previous day. The first act we saw live upon arrival was the globally trending Puerto Rican superstar, Omar Courtz. Much like Dei V in terms of his rise and support from established reggaetón artists, Omar Courtz is dubbed the future of the genre. He's already a popular and trending artist with multiple hits and collaborations with some of the biggest names in the scene. Despite the early set time, the crowd looked like they were ready for a headliner. Fans gathered with custom merch and banners, chanting Omar’s name until he finally hit the stage. The lights dropped, the music cut out, and all you saw on screen was a pink neon glow, hearts, and the animated character from his latest album. Then the beat dropped—and there he was, Omar Courtz, running across the stage, mic in hand, singing along with fans to his biggest hits. Though he’s currently touring across North America, he made time to stop in Chicago for this performance. His loudest and most hyped song of the night? “SEXPLAYLIST,” a recent collab with fellow Puerto Rican superstar Rauw Alejandro that took the internet by storm. Just like Bad Bunny has championed the new wave of Boricua talent, Rauw is doing the same, and collabs like this prove it. Omar’s set felt like a headliner moment, and the crowd made sure he knew it.

The party didn’t stop there. Right after Omar came Colombian star Kapo. Kapo has gone viral recently with hits like “UWAIE,” “Ohnana,” “Aloh Aloh,” “Más Que Tú,” and his collab with Jhayco, “Passoa.” His Caribbean-inspired, wavy sound has taken social media by storm. Kapo’s music is truly in a lane of its own—vibrant, smooth, and laid-back, perfect for a sunny day in Chicago. His set had fans grooving and singing along, proving that even as a newer artist, his discography is already strong. Kapo’s performance brought a calm, feel-good energy that balanced out the day and got the crowd primed for what was to come.

Once Kapo finished his set, we completely shifted gears as the crowd got hyped for one of the biggest names on the lineup. Reggaetón is full of artists, but only a few have cemented themselves as legends—and one of them is Puerto Rican icon Jhayco, formerly known as Jhay Cortez. Even though he keeps a low profile, his career has always been in the spotlight because of the nonstop hits. Jhayco has worked with everyone—from Bad Bunny to J Balvin, Mora, Anuel AA, Arcángel, Tainy, and Myke Towers. Fans knew exactly what kind of set to expect and recognized this moment as rare, since Jhayco doesn’t tour often—especially not in North America. Once the sound cut, the smog rolled in, and a light blue bin appeared center stage, signaling the start of a new era. Jhayco dropped his latest album, VIDAS ROCKSTAR (X), late last year, and this was the first time these tracks were performed live. His set didn’t disappoint—he ran through new songs and classic hits, and the crowd matched every lyric. Jhayco reminded us why Sueños is so special—because artists of his caliber show up and give unforgettable performances.

Jhayco’s set was incredible, and fans were ready for the next act—none other than Tito Double P. Tito has been a global phenomenon in recent months, rising fast into the mainstream spotlight after years of grinding. His team over at Double P has done an amazing job promoting and marketing his music and unique style. Tito stepped on stage in an all-white tracksuit and white cap, accompanied by his signature Labubu toys. As soon as he appeared, fans began throwing Labubu plushies at him from every direction. He collected his gifts, ran across the stage, and performed bangers like “El Lokeron,” “Tattoo,” “7 Días,” “Nadie,” and “Rosones.” Tito is a massive name in the Regional Mexican genre, and being one of the final acts at Sueños shows just how far Mexican artists have come in live entertainment. The crowd knew every lyric and fed off his high-energy stage presence and iconic dance moves. His set was a celebration of culture and sound.

After Tito’s high-octane set, the festival neared its end. As bittersweet as that was, it only meant the final acts were going to be even more iconic. This weekend had already showcased Latin music greatness and rising stars, but it was time to witness a true OG in the game. Wisin, one half of the legendary duo Wisin y Yandel, co-headlined the final night. Wisin is a pioneer—his solo career has continued to thrive with hits like “Mi Niña,” “Escápate Conmigo,” “Fiel,” and “Duele el Corazón,” along with tracks from his time in the duo. Fans danced and sang every lyric like it was 2005 all over again. Wisin hasn’t aged a day, and his presence on the lineup proved that his legacy still holds strong. He brought the heat—and set the bar sky-high for the final act of the weekend.

Then it happened. The final act of the night. The anticipation in the crowd felt just like Shakira’s headlining moment from the day before. And as the saying goes: save the best for last. But calling this artist "the best" might be an understatement. There are pioneers and legends—and then there’s royalty. That’s exactly what we got: Don Omar, the King of Kings, and true godfather of reggaetón and dembow, was here to close out Sueños Music Festival 2025. Don Omar’s return to the stage was major. After years of retirement, his inclusion on the festival’s lineup made global headlines—some thought it was fake news. But the king showed up in style, rocking his iconic leather coat like he’d never left. Don Omar pulled up to Chicago with fans of all ages stretching deep into the park. What stood out most? Every age group—young and old—knew his songs by heart. Don Omar’s music helped globalize Latin music, and his impact is forever. His performance was everything fans hoped for—a perfect finale to an unforgettable weekend.

What Sueños Music Festival pulled off this year was more than just a festival—it was a
moment of unity. It brought the entire Latin community together to recognize, celebrate, and enjoy the music we all share. But this wasn’t just for Latin fans—it was for everyone. People from all backgrounds came together for a beautiful weekend in Chicago full of amazing music and unforgettable performances. Sueños Chicago was a huge success, and every year the lineup, energy, and community just get stronger. Beyond the music, the festival provides real opportunities—local vendors, restaurants, jobs in media, security, and operations. Sueños 2025 was one for the books, and despite setbacks like Peso Pluma pulling out last year, the festival bounced back stronger than ever. The future of Sueños is bright.
