As I walked toward the Peacock Theater, all of L.A. Live was glowing with a purple tint—from the streetlights to the beams illuminating the venue. And, of course, on the massive jumbotron screen was the image of XOXO Tour Young Miko. Fans packed the front of the theater, taking photos, selfies, and videos, admiring the venue’s Young Miko-inspired designs. Not only that, but nearly everyone was dressed in pink and purple, a tribute to Young Miko’s signature colors, which she prominently features on her latest album cover. Seeing how packed Downtown L.A. was and the sheer number of fans entering the theater, it was clear that tonight’s concert was going to be historic.

Young Miko is a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist who recently broke into the mainstream, dominating the music charts. When she announced her tour earlier this year, it immediately went viral on social media, with fans losing their minds—this was her first full-scale theater tour in the United States. And what better place to perform than the iconic Peacock Theater in the heart of Downtown L.A.? With the release of her debut album, att, fans knew to come ready to dance, party, and maybe even shed a few tears. This album didn’t just feature her signature reggaeton hits; it also included deeply personal tracks about heartbreak and lost love. That emotional energy filled the Peacock Theater throughout the night, creating some of the most intimate moments of Young Miko’s performance as she connected with her fans on a deeper level.

Young Miko kicked off the show with Rookie of the Year, the first track on her latest album. The song reflects on her feelings of still being a rookie in the industry while knowing she’s already the best new star on the scene. She started her performance in a stripped-down, acoustic style, lying on a bed in front of a silk curtain, singing softly. But as the song built up and the beat finally dropped, she jumped off the bed, the curtain lifted, and the party officially began.

For my first time seeing Young Miko live, I was blown away by her energy. She was an incredible performer, running back and forth across the stage, interacting with fans from one side of the theater to the other. Once the party started, we heard all of her biggest hits, including Oye Ma’, Wiggy, Dispo, Tamagotchi, Chulo Pt. 2, Classy 101, and, of course, her worldwide sensation, the BZRP Music Sessions track.

From the emotional, acoustic moments to the high-energy dance breaks, the most memorable part of the night was when Young Miko took time to interact with her fans and their artwork. She spent about 10 minutes reading posters that fans had made for her—some with heartfelt messages that brought her to tears, while others were hilariously inappropriate, too wild to read out loud with kids in the audience. This moment showed just how much she truly values and appreciates her fans. This concert wasn’t just a performance—it was an experience where fans felt seen, appreciated, and genuinely wanted. That’s what makes the Peacock Theater so special. Unlike stadium shows where you’re just one person in a crowd of 20,000, here, you feel a personal connection with the artist.

Young Miko will continue her tour across the U.S. for the rest of the year, with another show in Los Angeles the following night after completely selling out two back-to-back dates. It’s safe to say that L.A. can’t get enough of Young Miko, and it seems like the love is mutual.

Young Miko’s newest album, att, is now available on all streaming platforms, showcasing her evolution as both an artist and a person.
